As you can read on Wikipedia, "The Torment of Saint Anthony is the earliest known painting by Michelangelo, painted as a close copy of the famous engraving by Martin Schongauer when he was only 12 or 13 years old."
When I encountered this painting I felt amazed because of its grotesque characters and theme. I imagined the kid once Michelangelo was as if he´d be a bored schoolboy doodling monsters on a side of its notebook.
I couldn´t resist to animate it despite the difficulty and time it involves, but this technique is always worth the wait.
There are some details still to be added, but I wanted to share it with you all as soon as possible.
