Ace of Clubs was one of five children that were kidnapped from their homes and placed in a government-funded facility where they were trained to use their powers for the purpose of being used as weapons. A few minutes before her death, Batman talked with her and comforted her, letting her know he knows how it felt to lose a childhood. After her death she was carried by a mournful Batman.
Ace: You were going to try and talk me into fixing what I've changed...before I die.
Batman: Yes.
Ace: I'm dying very soon.
Batman: Yes...I'm sorry.
Ace: [tears in her eyes] Could you stay with me? I'm scared.
[Batman sits on the swing next to her. He offers Ace his hand and she takes it.]
Amanda Waller: [continuing narration] He sat with her, until her time came.
"The world doesn't make sense until you force it to."
