Colibríes
This is a personal project inspired by a variety of hummingbirds I saw while traveling in Colombia. Hummingbirds are some of my favorite little creatures. They have interesting personalities as they are curious yet cautious, delicate yet aggressive. I visited a farm in Cali that the owner converted into a bird sanctuary and got to see hundreds of them up close.
I hand painted each bird with watercolor then scanned them into Photoshop to arrange into a seamless pattern. The pattern reminds me of that day on the farm with all the hummingbirds buzzing chaotically around me.
The birds and pattern are available as prints and on products in my Society6 shop.
