I took a Pacific Northwest College of Art (PNCA) continuing education course in the Spring of 2011 called Design Strategies. One of our projects was a calendar about the Space Shuttle, which at the time was launching its last mission.
I chose to create a 365-day tear-off desk commemorative calendar of the Space program. This calendar targets astronomy and space enthusiasts as the primary audience.
Each day features a factoid about something that happened during the 30 years of space shuttle flight on that day as well as a picture depicting (one of) the event(s), including which shuttle was involved in the mission, and the moon phase on that day.
The months are also color-coded for easy reference to a future date, and the color coding reflects a color associated with that time of year.
Each page features the space shuttle patch as well as a red, white, and blue line symbolizing the patriotism that went so hand-in-hand with the space shuttle program, especially in its infancy.
