Greek God's Archetypes: ARES

Hey!

Lately I have been studying Greek mythology and I have found some really interesting studies showing that each person in the world has their personalities and life stages governed by a god or goddess of this pantheon.

I decided to draw my version (this time with a more cartoonish, flat and playful style) of what would be a representation of someone whose life is ruled by each god. Hope you like!
ARES
Ares is known as the god of war. People ruled by this archetype have a penchant for challenges and tend to be combative.
They miss no opportunity to fight. But, unlike the people of Athens, whose fights are more intellectual and strategic, the fights of the people of Ares are that good old hand-to-hand duel.

In myths, Ares was rejected by his parents, Zeus and Hera. The characteristics he represented as the god of war were not so appreciated by the Greeks at some point in ancient Greek civilization.
But for the Romans, he became Mars, one of the most feared, worshiped and respected gods.

Mars can represent the most evolved version of Ares. That version of that fighter who stopped wasting energy on meaningless fights and self-destruction to become more disciplined and focused on channeling his energy and strength towards higher purposes.
Some variations of our Ares.

If you notice, our Ares just won the fight against three men bigger than him.
His coach is handing him some water and the presenter is handing him his prize, but that's not where his focus is.

He's fighting for the sake of it, and he still has the energy to defeat at least five more opponents!!

Go Ares!
This was the first concept art for this piece. I took some references from Fight Club - a classic that exudes the energy of Ares. Also, unlike the others who have a more soft an curvy shape, i gave a more straight, squared and hard shape and trace for this character to represent this 'straight to the point' yang energy of Ares.
This is how the fight -- i mean... The process was.
Thank you! ♥
