Benyamin Sueb’ Park is one of the oldest cultural parks in East Jakarta, Indonesia. Jakarta Government held this competition to create an innovative cultural center and museum that preserves the Betawi heritage on the site. Our main design objective was to conserve the existing historical buildings’ structure and equip them with new functions. Along with redesigning the public spaces, we intended to encourage fluid movements of people and invite more visitors to enrich the cultural center. The design comprises a museum, outdoor theater, tourism information center, and a basement museum area.
