This project explores the visual branding of the Noise music genre, and experiments with the audio-reactive possibilities of the visual programming software—TouchDesigner.

Noise music can be traced back to the Futurist movement and the Industrial Revolution, characterised by the use of experimental sounds and unconventional “instruments” in a musical context. Drawing inspiration from this pivotal technological revolution and its influence on challenging the boundaries of music, four key visuals were programmed to be animated in response to a live feed of original noise compositions.

Each key visual represents one of four industrial revolutions and the technologies that characterised them. This includes the 1st Industrial Revolution, 2nd Technological Revolution, 3rd Digital Revolution and 4th Cyber-physical Revolution. The animated visuals were then adapted to physical collaterals to further bring the concept of Noise and alternative music to life.
