Blue Mountain Road
I love Florist's 'Blue Mountain Road' and can't help but visualise peaceful imagery and relaxing colours whenever I hear it. My goal was to create hypnotic and mesmerising visuals that paired well with the song.
I found that by using a grid of squares drawn simply with a highlighter I could create a repeating pattern that could reveal and obscure each scene in an interesting way, and could give the piece a tactile feel.
Longer animations are a constant battle between creating a fully animated piece and being able to finish work economically and within deadlines. By using this looping grid I was able to find a creative way to keep action on the screen for a long duration without requiring weeks of work.
