Sound/Audio Workshop at Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF)

Creative Process for Mobilising and Sharing Information.
As part of the general training for MSF (Medecins Sons Frontieres) Association Coordinators, Keleketla! Library was invited to produce a 2hour workshop on creative process for mobilising and sharing information. The key thing was to give Coordinators and MSF an idea of methods to make information shareable and accessible.
As a point of departure for the workshop we screened two short videos of examples of creative mobilisation/information sharing. The are many different methods of facilitation but the focus for us was on sound as a key element. Generally, we think sound is a great medium, as it is accessible across society, and is very shareable these days via USB's, Bluetooth, on-line sites like SoundCloud & Facebook and can be played on cellphones, CD players, community radio stations in both audio and MP3 format.
To show them how successful the method can be when it comes to making information sharable, each participant after editing their recordings in groups using open source software: Audacity we burned 14 CD's of the recordings for them to take home.
