The objective of this multifaceted communications package was to increase players' awareness and understanding of the comprehensive benefits package they receive that is the product of a collectively bargained contract between the NFL Management Council and the NFL Players Association. The dollar amount of benefits provided is substantial but both parties felt that there was not an understanding on the part of players of the value of those benefits as well as the importance of the benefits to the player now and in the future. The intended audience was the players actively playing for NFL teams, plus retired players, spouses, agents and club personnel who assist players with understanding their benefits and other related employment issues.
