Our 8-Bit guest avatar creator definitely didn't create controversy of any kind
We wanted to celebrate our 5th birthday in style and show off some of our mad digital skills as the same time. We built an interactive party invitation with a difference: Instead of simply RSVPing, guests had the chance to create their own 8-Bit digital party avatar. The creation was then fed into a database and printed onto lanyards to wear as ID tags on the night. As an added bonus, we linked attendees Twitter accounts to their (now animated) avatars on two giant screens in our laneway space. Guests could tweet their adventures and conversations throughout the night, which led to some pretty interesting 'virtual party' conversations! And yes, the virtual Twitter party continued to rock on until our IT manager needed the power board back on Monday morning.

Guests created their own character through the site.
We then created their party lanyard, and animated each character.

The animated avatars were displayed on a large scren at the party so guests could tweet their adventures
and conversations throughout the night. Yes, things got real.
