College Project Rebrands: My Design Identity

This project involved a re-imagining of my personal brand for my freelance design work.

It started with a project for my senior portfolio class in college.
Original logo, created in Illustrator during my senior year at Sacred Heart University. This branding assignment was the first project in my senior portfolio class. I wanted to design something that represented my love for shapes and color. My nickname was "AO" in high school and college, so I thought it may be fitting to keep the abbreviation as my title.
Fast-forward to today. I decided it was time to revisit my personal brand and give it an update. After researching "hipster"-style logos, I opened up Photoshop and got to work. I drew from the "triangle" element from my original logo in college, added some of the "hipster" elements and through in rounded sans type for contrast. In the end, I felt that another shape would be appropriate, so I decided to add stars. Instead of "AO", I felt that using my full name was a more mature move and respected my own growth as a freelance designer.
