Is everyone unique?

As an individual, you have your own identity card that technically defines yourself as one person out of many kind of people. However, nowadays some mainstream images are being overly promoted by social media or commercials. It standardises the thoughts that people trying to be the ideal from the mainstream image. The best example is plastic surgery. It is undeniable that aesthetic standard is being shaped by influences from the mass media that enthusiastically promotes “beauty”. In other words, the society now has its rules to define what is beauty. Those who feel less confident in their own facial appearance, or “being eliminated from those unspoken rules”, might want to rebuild their confidence through plastic surgery. Will you still feel special when you have similar face with the ideal type of mainstream beauty? Perhaps someone still has not changed in their mind, but how you look is no longer represent your uniqueness.

If uniqueness cannot be defined by appearances, then what to define? Everyone has different life experiences, they are variations. These varieties shape the way you are. That is why everyone has their own story that the others never understand unless you share it to them. Your story helps you to understand yourself, seeking the true self. The way how you see, treat and understand yourself makes you unique because nobody knows the answer but yourself.

Beyond judgement

When we have no idea what the other person looks like, we are already beyond superficialities. It is essential to get knowing the person without judging their appearances. Each of the stories shared exclusively by them show the truest self in areas of their personal lifestyle, experiences, emotions and encounters.

Fingerprint
“biological representation of uniqueness”

In terms of biological identification, if appearances are no longer consider as a representation of a person, what else on human body can present the uniqueness?
Each person has unique fingerprint. It is one of a kind. It is detailed, unique, unalterable and durable over the life of a human, making them the only features on human body as lifelong markers of human identity.2 People cannot be judgemental about fingerprints because there are no standards. On the other hand, face is always be a biological identification that determines how people recognise a person. But since facial appearance might disrupt our understanding to that person so it is not the best features to represent.

Fingerprint is just a symbolic way to represent the personnel, what most matter is the story itself. This is crucial to reveal their individuality in order to let the viewers feel the purity of themselves sincerely. More importantly, to understand our uniqueness that is determined by our way to see ourselves instead of external judgment.
