There is a freight elevator at a venue in Salt Lake City known to musicians as “the famous fright”. Many musicians have been photographed in this elevator. It’s kind of a thing. Of all the times I've photographed Andrew McMahon, this was my favorite and here’s why.

 

We were riding up the elevator to the stage pre show when I asked Andrew to pose for a few impromptu portrait shots. The most interesting photographs come at interesting times, often when you don’t have a lot of time to prepare.
