Brief: Create a magazine spread using InDesign. 

I used an article about a rapper whose music I enjoy from the NY Times. I wanted to make the piece very colorful to reflect just how colorful the artist is. He is known for his iconic rainbow hair and brash comedy.

My first version had all of the images on the top of the page, but I decided that having them alternate would add variety and make it more appealing. I also decided to incorporate some watermark style elements in the background to break up the large white spaces and make it more dynamic to fit the magazine aesthetic. It took lots of adjustments to make sure that the paragraphs created a good flow and that the layout did make things hard to follow and read. One of my earlier versions was scrapped because organizing the images horizontally made it difficult to tell where people should start reading.
