I make not-always-easily-approachable music under the alias 🔴🔻🟥 (Circle Versus Square). Besides a DAW I employ a variety of musical tools and toys, such as an iPad, TR-09, Volca FM, Pocket Operators, Nintendo Gameboy, Commodore 64 and occasionally some actual instruments.
THE IMMERSION COMPOSITION SOCIETY
Since 2007 I’ve been active in the Immersion Composition Society (ICS) . The ICS is a network of musicians focused on producing vast amounts of raw material in a very limited time, often meeting afterwards to listen to the output. A variety of collaborative compositional games and restrictions help to spice things up, but the quality of the material is always secondary to the quantity. The point is to eliminate creative block, obliterate personal barriers and produce new material instead of crippling self-doubt and anxiety.
Artists tend to forget that creativity is not so much about creating new ideas as it is about curating them. After all. as long as you never stop, you will eventually produce something worthwhile by sheer accident. Inspired by the esotericism of the mystical freemasons, the ICS is divided into local and global clusters called Lodges, each bearing their own crest.
