To mark the forthcoming release of Android's latest OS, Android Kit Kat, Kit Kat South Africa went digital itself. Together with Google we hosted "Chocnology," an exhibition of 3D-printed chocolate sculptures, created by South African artists.

The project became the intersection of chocolate and technology. All the designs were created using the Android OS and online 3D modelling tools. To produce the artwork, a 3D printer that traditionally uses a plastic-based filament was manipulated to use chocolate as its raw material, allowing the creation of intricate, three-dimensional sculptures.

The artists include tech analyst Liron Segev, Dale Halvorsen's illustration alter-ego, Joey Hi-Fi, Studio Muti's Mine Jonker, and artists from Am I Collective, and Orijin. The artworks were seen for the first time at the Museum Of African Design (MOAD) in Johannesburg's Maboneng Precinct on Thursday 7 November 2013. Follow the exhibition at @KitKatSA.
