Student Brief: Nike ID Postcard
Help Nike promote a range of its latest customisable trainers. The postcards will be inserted into all Nike packaging as an upsell to the Nike ID range. Each postcard will feature a motivational quote. Challenge perceptions of the brand and choose a selected colour palette to bring the quote to life. No illustrative elements, only colour and type with supporting graphic elements.
Key words: Rebellious, Relentless, Liberating
The quote 'We're all just playing our own game' felt very bold with an undercurrent of calculation and something of a tactical nature. The idea behind the type package was to convey rebellion and relentlessness. I used repetition to get a sense of persistence across and I chose typography that was more playful in it's shapes to evoke a rebellious nature.
I chose a refreshing colour palette to get across a liberating mood as playing sport gives a sense of freedom and release of energy. The yellow punctuates that energy. I also used yellow to highlight 'Our own Nike ID' to call out the personalised aspect of the product.
